Im upgrading from 2x512mb to 2x1gb and ive tried every single combination on the new 1gb and the old 512mb. Both slots are functional, but one of the slots wont use the 1gb. Both the 1gbs work, ive tried them in the other slot, and both my 512mb work in the slot that wont use the 1gb. I have no idea why? help?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

Are you using the correct ram?

Yeah. I bought two matched one gb. Both of then work with work the laptop but the one slot won't run a 1gb. Both cards work in the other slot and 512mb works in the slot that won't use 1gb

Any success ?

How old is the MacBook ?

The only thing I can think of is that it is a Santa Rosa or later and you are putting 2 x 1GB PC6400 ram chips in it - nothing else would make any sense....

No success. It's a late 2006 model. Which I was under the impression could read up to 3gb
