Hello,

I haven't used my Macbook (december 2007, v3.1) since June, and this morning I realized that my battery didn't works more.

My cycle count is only 63, and I always been careful about doing complete load/unload cycle during these 2.5 years, avoiding to use the battery at home.

Mac OS says that I must buy a new battery :s
I can't believe it, only 63 cycles !

Is this common to kill it that quickly ?

Thanks

You used the battery waaay to little.
I had 610 cycles on my previous MBP (after 28 months) still at 65%.
A 2007 machine should have at least 150 cycles.

Don't save cycles, use the battery, I've seen people doing over 1k cycles in 3 years and still stay above 80%.

Yeah man, just use the battery quite frequently. My battery health is better when I use the battery more than when it's on the power adapter as well. I currently have 65 cycles on mine, the health hovers in between 93-94%. And my MB is 9 months old. So yeah, when you get your new battery (if you do) just use it as much as you can, it'll be worth it in the end :)

I got my macbook3.1 in late 2007 and currently have 336 cycles on my battery with the capacity at 95%.
