Greetings MacRumors!
As ive mentioned numerous amounts of times, i am the proud owner of a 2007 White Macbook 3,1 that has served me well for 7 years (this December) and my recent issue was Snow Leopard was not able to use the config file my University needed to set me up with their Wifi. So today i got my hands on a OSX Lion disk and made the upgrade. After installing istat the first thing i realized is that Lion Idles at around 10 degrees hotter then Snow Leopard did. I recently regouped the CPU and GPU and its been a lot and i mean a LOT better but I'm concerned because with Snow Leopard i was able to sit through 4 hours of lectures with my fan running minimum at 1800rpm and the battery would hold. Now instead of running at 41-43 I'm running at 50-54 degrees Celsius and when i open the web browser to go on my schools sight my fans kick up a little bit and i need all the battery life i can get. SO what im asking is im looking for a piece of software that shows me my Fan RPM, without controlling them in my task bar at the top. So i can learn what triggers higher RPM and what doesn't. And as for the 10.7.5 experience. So far not that bad. The first time i tried it, it was really laggy and slow. But now pretty good.
So please let me know. Ive used SMC fan control before but like i said i dont want it controling my fans. thanks
