macbook 3.1 optibay

Hello.
I want to replace my optic drive for another hard drive, can someone help me telling wich material to buy? do i need a pata or sata optibay? My optic drive is a matisha cw-8221.

Can you take a screenshot of your System Profiler? I can't remember is it PATA or SATA but I would guess it's SATA.

Yes. Appears that it uses PATA.

so can u suggest me what kind of material should i buy to replace my optic drive, and with that can i still put it a sata harddrive in the optibay? thanks

I went through hell trying to get a macbook 3,1 optibay.

Make sure you get a 9.5mm tall optibay with a PATA connector.

Pretty much all SSDs are SATA so I would put it in the HD slot. SATA 1.5Gb/s is also a bit faster than PATA 133MB/s.
