OK, so I got a secondhand Macbook 4,1 on eBay a while ago. Unfortunately it had a few faults... For example, when you shut the lid, it doesn't go to sleep normally like a normal Mac laptop. My best guess was that the magnetic reed switch near the battery connector was faulty, but that's all I got from Googling around.
Anyway, that means if I connect an external display I can only either have the two displays mirror each other (so the other one at most runs at 1280x800), or I can use it in extended desktop mode (which is a horrible thing with my setup as my main monitor is 23" and beyond 1080p.
Any ideas how I can manually force it to operate on *ONLY* the external display?
