I have a MacBook 7,1 model that came with 2 sticks of 1GB PC-8500 DDR3. I'd like to upgrade the RAM, and I have 2 sticks of 4GB RAM (1333MHz DDR3) from a newer MacMini model 5,2. Will this MacMini RAM work on this MacBook 7,1 model?

Since they're both DDR3 and the MacMini RAM is faster than your MacBook's (DDR3-1333 vs. DDR3-1066) it should work just fine.

I wouldn't count on that. It might work, or it might not. Macs are notorious for not working with so-called faster spec'd RAM.

If the OP already has the RAM, he can simply try it. However, if the OP plans on using the MacBook7,1 a lot, I'd perhaps suggest getting 2x4 GB PC3-8500 (8 GB total). Amazon.com usually has it available for about US$35-40. Getting 2x2 GB PC3-8500 (4 GB total) is only about $10-15 less.
