Macbook + ACD 20" problem

When ever i plug my ACD 20" into the macbook the mouse goes sluggish and non responsive - i've reset the PRAM and NVRAM but still no luck.

Any quickfixes ?

Specs:
Macbook 1.83 Core 2 /2gb ram 20" ACD - 10.5.1 with all updates
