MacBook Screamed, turned off/on/off ??? So my macbook was left on on my desk for a few days (as per usual) and while no one was near it it suddenly screamed (as if you were hitting the wrong button, but really loud for about 5 seconds), turned off, then on, then off again- now it won't take power from the cord it was on (power surge??) but it will from a different mac charger-BUT still won't power on. The power surge hypothesis doesn't really fit bc there were ten other things plugged in that are still fine and didn't go on or off. So now it just won't turn on...

I'm not tech savvy so ANY help/suggestions would be appreciated! WTF happened??? Any clues on whether or not I'll be able to pull the drive out and access the info?

How old is it? Is it still under warranty or AppleCare? If so take it in to the Apple Store.
Do you know what the condition of the battery was at the time this happened? Was it fairly new, or old or anything?

It's been a few weeks since you posted this, what is the status of it now?
