How is it cheaper? Apples refurbs are 999.99 as well.

Tax?

everyone says that refurbs are the "same" as new since they have the warranty, but there are plenty of people who just like having new stuff. Yes with tax it's cheaper. I would rather buy new with a rebate for the same price as a refurb, so for those who think like me, here's a nice deal.

Agreed. New models should have a greater resale value and the box is just plain sexy.
