Macbook Air 11' late 2010 - typical use

Hi, i have MBA 13 8gb ram but i have chance to buy MBA 11' late 2010 2gb ram for my girlfriend for lightly use - only for Netflix, Pages, Facebook etc. Its good or trash (2gb ram). It can stuck and lagging on Netflix, SAfari? Person who can sell me it, installed on it MacOS Sierra and he told me that is ok.

I have a 2010 13 inch MBA with 4GB of RAM. It runs fine unless I open alot of tabs or apps at the same time, then it will lag and stutter a bit. Generally I don't think I would say 4GB, let alone 2GB of Ram, is a good idea in 2016, but if she's almost solely using it for Netflix/Safari it might be okay but multitasking isn't going to be as fluid as yours with 8GB. Personally, it would have to be a really good price on it for me to consider it.

I have a 2010 MBA as well and I haven't experienced that lagging on Safari 9 (I usually have 10-20 tabs).

I think 4 GB should be minimum and if you are considering keeping your Mac for a couple of years more, might be worth shedding off some more to get one from 2013 onward (huge update)

The 2010 is certainly getting on in years, but there's no reason that it can't be a solid little machine for a few basic uses. I have a 2011 11" Air with 2GB RAM, and it works wonderfully for my needs, most of which center around productivity needs. If it works for her, it works for her
