Hello, I was able to talk down a MacBook Air 11" mid 2011 for $550. Is that a good deal? As of right now I don't have a laptop/computer and short on money as I'm a full time student. I don't plan to do anything major with the MacBook Air beside school and surf the web; I'm asking if it's a good idea to buy it or wait a few months till I save enough money to buy the newest model?

Make sure it has 4GB RAM not 2GB

Mba 11

My 4 gig, 128 is on Ebay right now with a starting bid of $420 and Apple Care till July of 2014. Not trying to sell it to you on this board but I would be very pleased to get $550. MINT condition out of Charlotte NC.

For that kind of cash you should be able to find a nice used mid 2012 model.
Gain the usb3 and 3rd gen icore

If it's a BASE MODEL I wouldn't pay for than $450 for it. You could have bought a 2012 for $699 NEW last week. $550 would be for a 2012 BASE MODEL.

Well the seller never show up and I'm not very happy about that because I waited half an hour and they ignore both calls and text. On the bright side you guys said I can find a better deal, maybe I'll just save enought money for the latest model, thanks guys.

Not a great deal but not that bad either. I've seen a couple of 2012 models (4GB/128GB) going for about $650 in Singapore though so I'd rather get those if I were you.

Ended up buying a 2 month old 2013 model in the end for $800.

Thank you Cathyy, the seller finally reply that he forgot and didn't have his phone so I can buy it tomorrow if I want. Would you suggest taking the offer? Or should I keep looking for a newer model with better spec?

I kind of think it's better not to deal with flakes but if you want that computer now you may as well
