I dusted off my old MacBook Air 11" mid-2011. I really like the form factor for around-the-house typing. I used Firefox 115 ESR and can still get web access with modern sites. All my Arturia Synths work, but they do strain the system a little.
The main OS installed is High Sierra, but I also have Mojave as a second boot using both DosDude patches and OCLP. OCLP was the only way to get the updates when I just installed Mojave. I also had Catalina running, but suspected it did not do well with 4GB of RAM.
The system has an upgraded OWC 1TB SSD and a more modern BT/WiFi card. Continuity works after a minor High Sierra PLIST patch. It also has a fresh battery. Of course, it cannot compete with my M1 PowerBook Pro.

I am considering making Mojave the main system and deleting High Sierra altogether for more space. But I am hesitant. Mojave has to disable SIP, while High Sierra runs with it turned on.

What do people think are the pros and cons? Speed looks about the same.

The 11" Air was one of the all time great Macs. I had a run of like 6-8 years with one of those always in my bag. If they made one with a retina display and an Apple Silicon processor I'd buy in a heartbeat. (Sorry, no input on your OS question, but respect your choice of hardware)

Same here.
I have an Intel MacBook Pro 2018 hi spec ($5K at the time,) an M1 MacBook Pro 13" max spec, as they came out (also a keeper,) an M1 Studio Ultra (in my home office,) and now M4 Mini Pro (in my home study/hideaway.) A fully equipped CMPro is still the grandpa in the lot. But I like this little guy.
