I have a 12 month old MacBook Air 13" i7 - maxed out MBA mid 2012,
but the fan seems to be running almost all the time,
seems like Chrome or some other apps are straining the processor ??

and the fan starts going once i open more than 1 tab open,

Does anyone know what's going on ?

I also have a Speck Plastic shell on that covers part of the fan,
I have a feeling that might be the problem !!!! ?????

one of my online banks requires that you install Java,

well there's your problem.
but i wouldn't use any shell that covers "part of the fan" (by which i am assuming you mean exhaust ports)
