Hello, I want to replace my Macbook Air 2011 13" battery . The local authorised repair center asks for almost 300 euros to replace it, which is a no-no. Then I searched iFixit and found this battery which is significantly cheaper: https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/MacBook-Air-13-Inch-Mid-2011-Mid-2012-Battery/IF188-070-1

But it says
Please note: This battery may experience issues under OS X El Capitan. We're not sure if all computers running El Capitan have this issue yet. If the battery you buy from us does not work, please contact us.

Which also is a no-no.

Then I found this one on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251761272961?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

It's almost 50 euros, and the seller seems like a very trusted one. It also says that it's a genuine battery. But I really don't want my Macbook Air to go all Note 7, so should I trust a battery off of eBay? What would you do? Thank you very much for your time!

Is there an official Apple store in your country? they should do it for less than 300 Euros - the UK Pounds price is 109 so it should be under 200 Euros.

Looking at the options for my 2010 Air. - do I want to risk something substandard to save money?

I've got the "Service Battery" warning and apparently my battery health is down to 76%. According to an Apple chat, "Service Battery" means its below 80& of the battery's original capacity.

Actually that's pretty good going for a battery that is 5.7 years old
