I have a MacBook Air 2013 and it runs great with macOS High Sierra, but it looks like the battery drains fast. Does anyone have this issue with macOS High Sierra?

Here is my specs and the information on my battery. It reads that my battery is "normal", and the numbers says it is fine (I believe), but could someone take a look and let me know or is this just the issue with macOS High Sierra? Yes, my MacBook Air 2013 is five years old, but when checking with the "About this Mac" option, it looks like the battery is fine?

Any advice and help would be appreciated. Here are the pictures about my MacBook Air and the battery.

Does the battery need to be replaced? Thanks!

No, I have not tried that as of yet...I might go ahead and do that, but for me it would take a lot of time. While I am at it I will do a SMC reset and a PRAM/NVRAM reset.

The issue is that I am working in another country and will next week go to the nearest Apple store (4 hours away from me) and might take my MacBook Air in, but since looking at the information, it does not look like the battery is a problem, but it is 5 years old now...

I think that my MacBook Air is not considered legacy yet (but soon), so I could get another battery I think if there is a problem with it.

Should I try to get another battery before it goes to legacy even though the battery states that it is ok?

Your Laptop still has 2 more years before it becomes unsupported, do a clean install and go from there.

Sounds good. I will try it see what happens. Nice to know that I have a couple of years still to get an OEM battery from apple if needed.

I love my MacBook Air 2013 and purposely bought the maxed out version in order for longivity. I don’t mind not having a retina screen, for it looks like Apple improved the color and clarity in macOS High Sierra, so the screen actually looks good in my opinion.

Be careful of Apple stores, they are now charging $99 US just to perform a simple task of transporting info from an old Mac into a new one. They will over talk you into buying a new MacBook.

Thanks for the advise, if I do go to the Apple store, they cannot convince me to buy. Worse case I will buy a third party battery if they give me too much trouble. :) I think I will not go to the Apple store since I have a few years to go before legacy status.

I went ahead and preformed a SMC and PRAM reset and will try a fresh install.

I hope macOS Mojave will preform better.

Gee, I have MacBookAir 13" , early 2015. I am still on OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. Having read about all the problems so many Users have or are having with High Sierra. I am scared to go to upgrade to High Sierra. I hope it will good to upgrade to Mojave. Any advice or comments welcomed from the community.

My issue with a MacBook Air 2017 is that battery drains while sleeping, up to 15%. I have already disabled the idiotic options Power Nap and the Bluetooth listening while sleep, but this is not enough. I've read that some users around here lose no more than 1% of battery overnight, is this even possible? 10% would be nice, but I can't get near to that value.

The machine comes with High Sierra and everything is updated.
