I have a Macbook Air 2013 in High Sierra (10.13.1), and having problem updating (to 10.13.2 or up) that tied up with a missing component.
My MBA had a malfunctioning Facetime Camera, which was making power problems and causing a lot of heat, while the fan runs forever and draining the battery. I had it removed and did not replace the camera, since it cost a lot and I never use for video calls on laptops.
Now, whenever the computer tried to update, half way through it detected a component problem and cannot finish the update.
Is there anyway to bypass, or rather acknowledge the component problem and proceed to the finish the update?
Thanks
