Hi guys,
My friends sister have a 5 year old second hand 2014 MacBook Air. She did some recovery partition stuff to reinstall which suddenly revealed an EFI password, which she didn't know of 5 years back.
I know the story with Apple repair shops and original proof of purchase which she also doesn't have. And even if she did, the price here is crazy expensive, in my experience 3 x US prices.
question is: I have the tools to both flash the EFI (CH431a programmer) and /or to desolder the chip and replace it (hot air station).
Which would be more easy, and where to source the correct bootrom (which would have to be fitted with her serial)?
Thanks
