Hi - wonder if anyone can help? I have searched but couldn't find anything specific.

I bought a new MBA last weekend, replacing a 2015 model. Bought a Dell S2719DC USB-C monitor for it. Now the display and charging etc works very well - really pleased. However, one BIG issue is that when the macbook goes to sleep (happens a lot due to working on other kit), the monitor searches for a source then says going into Power Save mode. Fine.

But the problem is, every 20-30 seconds, the monitor kicks back into life, the charging 'beep' noise happens on the macbook and then the monitor goes into a search loop - like in the (poor resolution!) video below. Any ideas?

I'm going to return the monitor as Dell have just said Apple isn't supported only Windows but concerned I'll have similar issues? Could it just be as simple as the cable?
