So I see a 20% discount on base-line Air 2019 now (8GB/128GB).

Any reason they have offers now? New stuff coming or?

Where do you see this?

Anyway, there aren't any rumors credible enough to make it into the MR Buyer's Guide.

My 2019 MBA has been a great computer for me. Perfect for my use, which is typical productivity stuff: writing, presentations and spreadsheets. At $900 (20% off), it’s a pretty good deal.

Some people believe Apple will replace the MBA‘s current butterfly keyboard with a scissor mechanism. I am not so sure that this will happen soon. The Air is Apple’s thinnest laptop, so the butterfly KB is an important part of the design. Changing the keyboard would be a major redesign, and the current MBA design is less than 18 months old. So, it would be an unusual move for Apple. Also, it appears like the 2019 butterfly keyboard is much more reliable than the older versions, so Apple might just continue to improve upon the current design.

I'd grab that deal! I own a 2017 MacBook Pro and a 2019 MacBook Air and my MacBook Air is my favorite because it is lighter and seems faster. I used to think MacBook Airs were basic machines that weren't capable of much, but I found out I was wrong.. if my 2019 MacBook Air died today I'd go out and buy another one tomorrow. It is an amazing machine and a discount just makes the whole experience even better.

I use my 2019 MBA for pretty much the same thing, but I also edit videos in iMovie - yep, the MBA can edit videos all day and my only complaint is fan noise.

I'd grab that deal myself if I had the money, even though I don't really need a third Apple laptop.

'cuz they want to? Could be excess inventory or some incentive to unload them (new model coming out?)

Id say go for it. There hasn't really been any solid air rumours mostly pro stuff. You can always wait for something better in tech but then youd never buy anything!

The design is fairly new so cant see much changing on them for some time yet.
