Anyone here happens to be using the MacBook Air 2020 and doing Android development using Android Studios? Is it painful slow to run the emulator? I will be using the Air for Xcode as well but I believe if it is going for Android Studios, then Xcode should not be an issue.

You didn't mention which specs? I'd recommend i5/16 if you want to run emulators or virtual machines.

Thats what I have in mind as well but I am open to hearing from MacBook Air owners of any configuration on their experience with Android Studio.

Tried it. Returned it. Not up to par even compared to my 13" 2018 Pro.

That's the short version.

The long version? If you need to run Android via the emulator, you need a 15" Pro or the 16" Pro. Unless frame rate is actually not that important, then go for the 13" Pro and just use a real Android phone for development.

That was the i5/16.

Thanks a lot for the input! What do you think is the bottleneck? The processor?
