Just got another MacBook Air. With three MacBook Airs, I need to start making backups to an external USB drive. With the older MacBook Pro, I backup with the 'regular' cable to the external drive. Now, the new devices have it's own new Type-C connection.

I need to be backing up the iPhones to the MacBook Air, and in turn, backup the MacBook Air to the external USB drive. In this situation, I would need two separate cables, which will be a lot of money getting them from the Apple Store.

With all the iPhones in the house, I needed to have more lightning cables for convenience, and I also replaced some receptacles with AC receptacles and USB charging. As a result of these, I had to purchase more lightning cables. I chose 'nice' sturdy ones. Half of the cable are temperamental; sometimes they work or not. ONLY Apple cable are certain will always work. There are thousands of third party lightning cables out there in every store. Apple's own cable are kinda pricey. Any solution(s) to my dilema? Sure many other iPhone users are in my situations. Is there any trusted, fairly priced lightning cable one would recommend?

Thanks
