I've been trying to find out if it is possible to connect my MacBook Air 6,2 (early 2014) to a docking station to get dual monitor support. Can anyone help me out on connecting dual monitors to my mac?

Supposedly the now-obsolete Other World Computing Thunderbolt 2 Dock could handle multiple displays, provided that one of the displays was a Thunderbolt display. Good luck getting your hands on one, you might get lucky on eBay. Also, some people have reported intermittent trouble with connectivity on these docks while they were still in production.
