Macbook Air and Bluetooth

I have an end 2010 13" MBA.

Today, after a year , I noticed that I don't appear to have Bluetooth. I have the icon at the top of the screen, it says Bluetooth unavailable. There is no option under Preferences and the System Profiler says no information.

Two questions;

I'm assuming that this model/year did have Bluetooth as standard.
Is there anywhere else I should look.

There should be a Bluetooth option in System Preferences. It sounds like there might be a hardware error. Have it checked out.
