Bought my daughters Macbook Air (2015) model for my youngest son who is going to college. Turns out that the Macbook Air originally had iced tea spilled on it and was dried out and its battery was replaced by my daughter. She bought a new MacBook and sold me this particular Macbook. Well not when you try and plug power cord in the Macbook doesnt seem to hold a charge. I checked the cycles and yes it appears as though the battery is new. Just not sure why the battery is not charging. Left it to charge for 12 hours and it was completely dead. I did the SMC reset to try and fix it but no go. Any other ideas?

I believe she got battery from Apple Store. Not sure if she herself used pure isopropyl alcohol. She is class now but will find out. Having some strange results with power. Wondering if it's worth fixing?

Disconnect the battery, connect the charger, don't touch anything, and see if it boots on its own. If not, disconnect the track pad too and try again. If you still get nothing, I recommend removing the boards and clearing any affected areas with pure isopropyl alcohol.

Thanks I will give that a try. Battery is internal so it will take a bit to do so
