Macbook air brightness issues

I have a MBA 13". It was working fine and suddenly one day exactly left half of the screen went bright and right half was normal.

Looks like LCD failure, certainly not something software related anyway. You can try cross your fingers and reset the PRAM for luckies (hold Cmd, Alt, P, R on startup until you hear the Apple boot chime 3 times, then let go) -- worth a try if nothing else.

Best pop into an Apple Store to see how much it'll cost to repair. Hopefully you still have AppleCare. You can verify how much warranty you have left by typing your serial number in here: https://checkcoverage.apple.com/
