Hello, I'm thinking of getting the 2012 MBA and was wondering if it would be smart to wait till July when Mountain Lion comes out. My assumption is that macbooks purchased after June, will ship with Mountain Lion.

The issue is that I have a Brother printer which says that it is currently compatible with OS X Lion. My fear is if I don't purchase the MBA now and wait till it ships with Mountain Lion, it will no longer be compatible with my printer (i.e. no driver availability).

Will Mountain Lion be backwards compatible with printers that work on Lion?

The reason your Brother printer says it is compatible with Lion is that ML is not out yet, so it can't be compatible with an unreleased OS.

If your Brother printer is of recent vintage, it will be supported by ML.
