Is the Macbook air supposed to be turning on periodically when the lid is shut, and it's (presumably) in sleep mode? Here's what happened to me:
Saturday I tried printing something at my house, realizing that I had the wireless printer at my parent's house selected as the printer. So I Command+Q the print queue and print the documents using the printer at my house. Today (two days later), I have my Macbook air in my bag, closed, and the printer goes off and prints those two documents I was trying to print on saturday. I check my bag and my Macbook air is still in there closed. I open the lid, it wakes up, and there is no print queue or anything on the dock. This is very strange...

It wasn't on AC, it was in my bag. Although since it has the ability to powernap, it's possible that the software simply glitched. Thanks for the info!
