Macbook Air display

Hi, My macbook air display is completely broken. I got an external monitor and hdmi cable. Trying to hook the mac display to external monitor. But it is not working.

Since display is completely gone, unable to setup primary display options.

Is there any keyboard command which I can use to change display option to external monitor.

While you can try to tab through each option and change certain settings that way, it is tedious at least.

My thought is to launch terminal and execute command from there. I think there are command line tools to adjust display settings. Alternatively, you can SSH to your Mac and execute command so that you can see the output easily.
