I tried connecting a 2012 Macbook Air to a projector. The projector was detected but nothing was displayed on the projector. Changing the resolution did not help.

However, the projector works with Windows laptops and the Macbook Pro.

Not sure what is wrong. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I'm not sure what the problem is, though have experienced this myself with a couple of Macbook Airs and some displays

mine works fine after shutting everything off and back on - also, see the displays tab in settings and see if the air is set for mirroring..

Just to be sure we're not overlooking something simple...

How did you connect to the projector? VGA? HDMI? Did you use a dongle?

By nothing was displayed, did you see a black screen? Blank screen of some other color? Is it possible your desktop was extended onto the projector and it was blank because no icons were there?

Does your Displays preferences panel show you two monitors and allow you to arrange them?
