Macbook Air External*display

Hello Guys

I have a problem with my Macbook Air 2011.

I have bought a Asus VK248 monitor to connect to my air.

Now I want to connect my screen to my Air and close the lid.

But when I close the lid the monitor switches from the resolution 1920x1080 to the native resolution of my air ? :s Is it possible to close the lid en keep the 1920x1080p resolution on my external monitor?

When you close the lid of your MBA and it's connected to the screen adjust it to the proper resolution and the setting will automatically be saved so that when you disconnect/reconnect again it will automatically be the correct resolution.
