Hi, im considering switching to mac (been a windows user) and macbook air is my choice at the moment.

The only issue i have is that the uni computers are all windows and will any Word files i switch from the macbook to a windows pc change in terms of formatting/layout?

Also is there any other advice you can give me?

Thanks!

I remember back in college I wrote a psych paper, which had strict formatting guidelines, on a PC, saved it to a floppy with the intention of printing it out at the University library, which had Macs. (This was a long time ago when I was particularly ignorant about computers.) When I opened the doc on the Mac, the whole thing was jacked. It was quite the nightmare...

Anyway, these days, as long as you're using Office 2010 for Windows with service pack 2 or later and Office 2011 for Mac, you should be fine.
