Any chance we see a M5 Air released in Space Black? Would like to keep the black theme going. That thin profile in black would look splendid.

Ain’t gonna happen. You want space black? Gonna have to buy a Pro. That’s Apple’s marketing plan.

But look what happened to the iPhone. It was indeed Apple's marketing plan to limit certain features or colors to pro modals only on certain Apple products hoping that consumers would cave in and open their wallets wider to buy the pro modal much to the delight of Tim Cook no doubt. But a rare event happened among Apple product offerings where Apple top brass decided to throw in pro-motion to the regular iPhone this year ... maybe most were not expecting this ... so anything could happen ... when Apple offer something substantial to the hardware and add value while maintaining its price point, there should be a surge in sales for that product modal, especially at the lower end where we do not always expect this.

So a space black MB Air... well.... we got Sky Blue or more a silvery blue finish so who knows?
If it sparks a positive reaction offering space black like the reaction they got with iPhone 17 ...it might be great for sales.

None of us really know. I have no idea who is in charge of deciding colors for Apple products but I hope Apple begin to offer more color consistency between products and maybe differentiate by the quality of finished coating.

ProMotion isn't visible on the outside. Triple rear cameras is.

Colors are visible on the outside. Apple isn't going to give a Pro color to Air.

Pro iPhones this year don’t have space black. iPhone Air does though.

Different products have different hero colors.

M5 MBP only comes in two colors, one of which is the hero Space Black. Given that, there's almost no chance M5 MBA will also get Space Black.

If M6 MBP came in orange, then maybe MBA gets Space Black.

When I said "maybe differentiate by the quality of finished coating" I meant EXACTLY what you said. So if Apple provides a reasonable color that is similar to colors on the pro modals but lacks the slick refined finish on the pro then it is up to the consumer to choose. The lack of refined finish on lower priced modals doesn't mean it is not aesthetically unappealing .... just the pro modal has a deeper coating and classier look.

As for future MBP products coming out in orange ....man..... wtf.....that is freaky based on Apple conservatism. Reminds me of the MacBook clamshell orange color in the old days but that was NOT a pro machine. Honestly, after Tim is pushed aside, maybe somebody in Apple will get to grips with coloring concepts between Apple product modals so we have more consistency.

Same color concept across modals...... just better & classier finishes for pro modals.... everybody happy.
