Hey Guys!

I decided I do a fresh install of Lion on 2011 Macbook Air so I erased and went to 'reinstall' OS X Lion, the problem is it seems to be taking ages. I started to install at 1:30pm today and its 16:42 writing this and looks as though it downloaded 60%. It now says it 7hours and 47minutes remaining but 20mins ago wit was 1hour 15mins. My internet is not the best, is there anyway else I can install it? I have a OS X Lion disk I had made but I do not have a external DVD drive :/

any help would be good!

Thanks

the only way to reinstalling on the air is through the internet recovery, with redownload lion from the web.

and the other way is to have lion installer on an hdd or a usb and install from there.

but since you don't have a copy of it, i guess your only way is the one you are using. but if you have low internet speeds, its going to take a while, since lion is over 4gigs now.

leave it over the night or something :D

Hmm I guess I should leave it downloading, 6hours 33 now...

As I speak, its started to install. I have to have more patients..

Thank you!

I had to reinstall my Mac Pro a week ago, and there seems to be a problem with determining download speed. Mine also said 8 hours....it took about 30 mins.

I would suggest creating a USB of the installer to avoid that next time.

Well that's just crazy. Why did they have to stop supplying the OS on a USB drive? I have decided to sell my 2011 MBA as I can't stand Lion, it's awful. Having to faff around like this for a simple reinstall is the final insult.

Apple haven't a clue.
