Hello everyone, I have a question about a 2008 A1304 MBA that I purchased. It has cracks along the hinge cover, the person I bought if from said thats all that needs to be replaced. The cover is lose and people are telling me that the hinges or the entire LCD needs to be replaced. Is it possible that just replacing the cracked hinge cover will stop the screen from flopping over or did I get myself into a bigger problem than they let on to?

If the "hinge" is loose, you will need to replace the hinge clutches. Not sure how tough of a job that will be, but I can't imagine you have to replace the entire LCD assembly.

Also, may want to look here, it's apparently a very common defect. http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2948
