Randomly when I wake up my M1 Macbook Air, I'm prompted with an 'enter my keychain password' to continue using apps. If I enter my password, I'm the presented with the next app that can no longer access "Core Sync", and I am basically presented with 10+ apps that have lost access to Core Sync.

This is basically my sign that the M1 needs to be restarted, even after entering passwords, the M1 will quickly freeze itself and head into a spinning beachball life. It acts close to an out of memory error, but it never presents as that. Even quitting all my apps and relaunching them won't work. Only way to get back to normal is a full restart.

Does this happen with anyone else? Happened on Big Sur, still happens on Monterey, does not happen on any of the Intel Mac's that I use regularly.

Core Sync is part of Adobe Creative Cloud, used by Adobe to synchronize local files with their cloud services. I would guess that there's a broken prefs file, or perhaps Adobe has bugs on M1.

To cover the chance that it's broken prefs or some other installation issue, I would try a repair or reinstall of all Adobe software, using whatever procedures they have documented on their website.

So... it's the first of many, if I enter my password in there, then Apple Keychain presents a similar error that it's lost sync with whatever, then Chrome, then iMessage, then the computer freezes.

I'll try a reinstall, but I don't think it's related, it just happens to be the first error that makes it through before the computer gives up.

sorry I can find the article I was reading about adobe™ not playing well with our MacBooks
my quest was on a duck duck go search were I typed "adobe MacBook M! problems" and saw some remedies
I just did a search and found nothing, but here is something out there that might help

best I can do

I would definitely give it a try. Software like Core Sync needs to tap into the system at a fairly low level. I suspect it's replacing part of the filesystem with a virtual filesystem synced with Adobe's cloud services. That virtual FS needs Core Sync to be running and working correctly in order to respond to requests to read or write files. If that all goes away, anything which tries to access files in the affected parts of the filesystem will begin to hang, even if nominally unrelated to Core Sync. And a whole bunch of system processes hanging up is how you get beachball hell and everything grinding to a halt.

If reinstalling Adobe's stuff doesn't work out, it might be time to attempt a full macOS reinstall. Somewhere, you've got something that's misbehaving.
