MacBook Air M1 won't update from Mac App Store

Hello,

I have a MacBook Air M1 16GB 1TB. For some reason none of my apps from the Mac App Store will update. They don't even spin. I've tried logging out of the App Store, restarting my computer and logging in again but nothing helps. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate the help.

I had this issue sometimes as well. But after a restart it worked flawlessly, every time so far.
To clarify, I had the issue that the update downloaded, installed and ended with an error message like "can't be installed right now" even if the app in question wasn't even running.
