Atlantis but in space
So I had a weird interaction today , I have a M2 MacBook Air with AppleCare+ . I am pretty rough on my laptops because I use it in a bag every day for work. I had liquid damage due to a spill. I asked what will be replaced because the screen was discolored and distorted because of water. The person at the Apple Store said just the screen but I feel like water got deeper into it then that? I haven’t had to use an AppleCare claim since 2017 on a MacBook so just curious what has changed and done

Certainly more will likely be replaced. The person in the store had no clue.

If you have AppleCare+, in USA the cost is $299 plus local tax. What you’re looking at is non-AC+ cost.

No this is already the most expensive it can get, if you had to pay even more then you could soon buy a brand new Macbook instead and there wouldn't be any point in having AC+. Doesn't matter how much or little they end up replacing. Hopefully they total the entire thing and give you a replacement. Next time you run into this issue I recommend not going in to the store and instead either calling them up and asking for an express replacement or using the Support app on your iPhone to request that. Then they'll overnight you a good as new identical Macbook to your doorstep and you don't have to deal with the repair nonsense. Costs the same for this situation.

There is no “express replacement“ on a Mac.
