Hi,

I used my Mac as a wifi hotspot for a room where main router wifi did not reach (but the Mac is wired to the router). I changed to a MacBook Air M2 a couple of months ago and since then I have problems creating a hotspot. Sometimes it worked but now I cannot make it work.

The hotspot is created but when any device connects to it, the devices are not getting a good IP so there is no internet connection for the devices. I have disabled hotspot, changed SSID name, changed password, channel... but nothing, now there is no way to connect any device to the Mac hotspot.

Any ideas on how to fix it? I cannot find any similar case on internet so far...

Thank you!

PS: Now I am on Sonoma but problems started with previous Mac OS

No one ever experienced a similar issue or any ideas on how to fix it? I don't know what else I could try. Thanks!

thanks, but my problem is on the mac hotspot (not on yhe iphone hotspot). I want to use my wired Mac as a hotspot in the room for any device that comes in the room: ipad, iphone, other macbooks… so i do not need a wifi repeater as the mac will do the job
