Did a little upgrade to my M4 Air - added 2TB of SSD, an HDMI port, and a couple of USB-A and a could have USB-C ports. I made a little backpack, so far it works exactly as I had hoped.

Looks terrible :D but I can see why it would be useful! What did you use to attach it?

Besides the ssd add on, I achieved the same thing for my MacBook Air but with the much sleeker Satechi usb c hub

Command strips - Actually it keeps everything under the Macbook out of the way- I can leave it hook up and drop in a backpack, If I am mobile - nothing stick out of the side. No cables -USB sticks.

I saw those side mounted hubs didn't like them much. So I cam up with this. I don't have anything to disassemble, it is under the Macbook, nothing pokes out of the side. I can drop in it to a backpack as is.
