macbook air optical disk sharing?

Hey guys/girls just got a macbook air 13in and was wondering how do I set up remote disc feature? My dad has a 21.5 in iMac and for some reason it will not let me share with his optical drive, he has Lion as do I. Is this a glitch or am I missing something?

On his computer, go into System Preferences and then Sharing. Make sure that Disk sharing is checked and then you should be good to go once you go to Remote Disk on your MBA in Finder.

I have done this but for some reason under remote disc it will not work, I do not see his mac or my pc at all .

yes it does, its just not finding any of my computers I have tried it on every one in the house. which is 5.

Do you think I should take it into apple? I just got it this saturday....

took it to apple and it worked for them, must be something wrong with my network will try to fix it and see what happens thanks for all the help guys/girls.
