I heard a ‘poof’ today while wiggling some cable near where my power supply was plugged in. Sure enough my MacBook Air PS kicked the bucket. It’s an early 2015 model 13 inch.

Can anyone vouch for the replacement models? I am in South America and the originals are just too expensive. Also the ones available here are 60 watts, but on the Apple’s site they sell the 45 watts. Will the 60 watts work on the 13 inch?

hi

sorry to hear about your situation. nothing more immediately worse than a power problem.

yes, the 60 watts work on the 13 inch. the 60watt and the 45watt both have MagSafe 2 adapters.
as long as you use apple authentic power adapters, the controls on the computer itself will prevent "overcharging".

i strongly recommend power supplies and cables be bought with unopened packaging, and at apple authorized centers only.

I second Niji's comment. Buy from Apple or an authorized apple center.
