Good condition MacBook Air 11" with 4GB RAM, and a 1.6Ghz intel i5 processor. Comes with charger and a couple more months of AppleCare. How much is a good price to buy it for?

I hate to bump my own thread again, but he's looking to sell today and you guys usually have pretty good advice...

600$ is too much. A 13" 128GB model would cost about that much.

Depends on how much of a negotiator you are.

I believe the baseline 11" came with 2GB mem and 64GB storage, so this upgraded 4GB version could have 128GB of storage; if that is the case, and if it's in decent cosmetic condition, and works well, I think $600 is a reasonable asking price for that 2011 model, especially with some remaining AppleCare.

But with the seller telling you up front it's negotiable, you'd be foolish not offer less initially. Needless to tell you the usual caveats of buying used stuff, apply.

There are a number of sold ones on ebay. They seem to average around $450 or so, and that is even a bit higher than I'd go. My limit would be about $400, maybe $425-450 if it were perfect with box, etc.

You can buy a refurbished mid 2013 11" Air for $719 with a year warranty. That to me would be a better purchase than a used machine with some remaining warranty. The remaining Applecare mainly helps if it was sold with problems, obviously excluding things like water damage. It is way too high for a 2011, and it's definitely above what the seller would take on ebay. A couple months of Applecare is arguably worth peace of mind and nothing else.
