Best Buy in Canada has the base 13" MBA for $999 today ($1099 regularly). Just curious if Apple is planning on another MBA refresh next week with the rest of the MBP announcements? The pricing today is cheaper than the educational discount.

Best Buy and Futile Shop have been selling the base at $999 pretty regularly since June. The last one was back in September.

I don't think there's any refresh coming anytime soon.

I got mine for 999 at BBY, base model 2013.

Amazing price for the quality, the idea of putting that much into a windows ultrabook was sketchy to say the least.

The only comparable deal I found was a Series 9 Samsung i7/128GB for $900

After witnessing the lazy plastic casing I decided to pass on Samsung, even the aluminum finish units are just sheeting glued to plastic.

Samsung may have been derivative of Apple in certain design features, but they failed to match the build quality.

Nope.

Agreed. Samsung only managed to copy the look. But the overall design is more than skin deep.
