Macbook Air running hotter and battery life lower after latest software update

Just did the latest Mac software update a few days ago and noticed that my MBA runs hotter (fans are constantly screaming) and the battery life now is about 1:15 hours on a full charge versus 3:30 hours before. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any suggestions?

Check activity monitor and see what's eating up the CPU. Something is spinning. I've had this issue before with software updates. Once you identify the offender we can figure out how to solve the problem.

Looks like I found the culprit...

Looks like it's something called Microsoft Sync Services. I am running Entourage off of Office 2008. It seems to be constantly running at 90%+ CPU utilization. This never really happened before. I wonder what the issue could be.

Not really sure if it's indexing my mail. It checks my mail every 5 minutes.

I think I've figured out the issue. In Entourage, I turned off the syncing between iCal, Address Book, and Notes. Once I did this, MS Sync Services rarely came up at all. Consequently, my CPU load, heat and battery issue was fixed. The problem is that unless I sync with iCal and Address Book, I have no way to get my iPhone to sync with Entourage.

This never happened before the latest Mac OS and iTunes update (I'm assuming something to do with MobileMe). Also at this time, something happened with my iTunes to iPhone sync. It now takes about 20-30 minutes for my iPhone to sync whereas it only took a few minutes before.

Not a happy camper....
