Hi Macrumors,

Looking to purchase a MacBook Air for some basic computing and want an Apple. Best Buy has some good deals at the moment:

MacBook: $900
MacBook Air (new): $950
MacBook Air (2017): $750
MacBook (rose gold open box): $750

What are people’s thoughts on the MacBook Air 2017? Worth the $750? Specs are 128gb, 1.8ghz, 8gbram

Needs are basic computing, iTunes, like to use iMovie here and there, FaceTime, Google Docs, Photo.

Thanks!

If you don’t care about the screen resolution on the MacBook Air 2017, it’s fine, but as for me I need a retina display.
The MacBook and MacBook Air (New) have more powerful video codecs integrated (in hardware vs software decoding), but in the day by day use I don’t think really matters.
