MacBook Air screen not working

My MacBook Air is about a year and a half old and yesterday it randomly began showing colored vertical lines. When I press on the screen the lines change to different spots. I need my MAC for school and I would much rather not buy a new one or have to pay for repairs. Any tips would help :)

Take it to the Apple store for a free diagnosis. It may be a loose connection.

Was the MacBook ever dropped or exposed to liquid? It's unusual that this would happen out of the blue.
