Hi there. I have a problem... I have had my macbook air for about 2 years now but it's not working properly anymore and I think it's because of the software update. Basically it tells me that I have new updates, everything works out fine but then it start the process of restarting the computer(normal) and then it just BLOCKS. It can't restart the computer and none of the new updates are available.... I've been everywhere and I can't find any solution... Anyone can help me?

firstly, restart whilst holding down option + command + p + r.
wait until you hear the chime 3 times and then allow to start normally.
if that don't fix it then follow this procedure:
restart your Air with install disc in an external drive whilst holding down the option key.
select the instal disc and allow the Air to start.
select disc utility from the drop down menu and select 'repair permissions.
when complete, restart normally.
if that don't work, follow the procedure again, only this time actually reinstall the OS.
then update via SW Update and you should be good to go without data loss.
hopefully you already have your valuable stuff backed up externally.
