Macbook air weird screen glitches

I'm getting some weird screen glitches on my macbook air, you can see it on the top left in this video:

any thoughts on what this could be? Possible it could go away if I wipe and do a fresh install with sierra when it comes out? Or is this probably a hardware issue?

Could be anything really.....Ram, LCD, logic board.....difficult to say. Try the easy stuff first
