So basically mom's Macbook air won't turn on. We got it on once and I reset the fans which were loud and we were all good but then it wouldn't turn on again but after about a week of not coming up again it turned on after pressing power after many presses but the fans were all loud again so I did a scm reset on them but the computer wouldn't go back on after.

It's plugged in, fully charged, but won't go on right now. Given we've gotten it on a few times I just press power every now and then (and try the reset thing).

We were told it's likely a motherboard issue and would cost 900 or more to repair.

I think it's my fault. I clean her laptop since she doesn't clean hers and I use it a lot too. I use an eye glass cloth and lightly dampen it, and then use it to clean screen and keys which get grimy with use. I've done this with my pro for six years without anything happening but I think I may have made a mistake and the cloth may have been pretty wet and water maybe got inside because the problems started after that...

Thankfully mom backed everything up and isn't even really upset given unlike me, she really only uses a computer for checking facebook and articles and thinks a tablet would be more suited to her. But still, I feel like trash I may have ruined the air. If someone damaged mine I'd be furious, so really hating myself right now.

Given we HAVE gotten it to get back on after a random press of power after many presses so I have some hope. I was wondering if anyone had any possible suggestions to get it to turn on if there any any left other then the scm reset (pressing shift, option, control and power).

Edit: The charger was always green but after keeping it unplugged awhile when plugged in it's orange but turns green when you press power then goes back to orange. Gonna keep trying
