MacBook and MacBook Pro HD Switch

So I took the 500GB HD out of my new Alu MB and put it in my new Alu MBP thinking I would have to reinstall OS X and Vista thru bootcamp. It turns out the MBP booted fine on my MB hard drive and everything seems to be running fine. My question is do I need to reinstall the OS or am I good to go like this? Will I run into any problems in either OS X or Vista? It's not a big deal if I have to, but if I don't need to then there is no point in going through the hassle. System profiler has all the right specs popping up for the MBP, so that part worked fine. Does the HD just have the OS on it and nothing specific to the machine then?
